Okay, I am giving no details. It was on a discussion site. But, he (most likely) got just about everything wrong. And why he posted to my comment, which never mentions specifically that I am a transgender woman, which was what he was attacking is not clear. But, this person not only posted it to my comment, but to plenty of others.
I did the right thing in my opinion. I did not bother to refute this person, or give him any satisfaction of posting a comment showing that this was upsetting to me. What I did was report him to the moderators as breaking group rules, although the comment could have been objected to for multiple reasons. After reporting his post, I blocked him.
Unfortunately, there is no way of blocking such comments from appearing to your posts in advance as this site because they don’t screen comments for rule breaking. Thankfully, I have control here, and I would never approve such a comment. This is clearly stated on my “Policy on Commenting,” page.
So, yes I am upset, but this does not make me believe I am other than what I am—Stephie.

Sorry to hear that you got hit by that troll, Stephie, but you did the right thing; report, block, then ignore.
